All the MST3K episodes listed here are on DVD or somewhere in the process of getting there, but not available through Rhino Home Video, or were not available when the DVD's where made. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, read these notes first to avoid any evil surprises, and look at the MST3K DVD info page if you haven't already. If you're still interested, email me. Remember, not all DVD players can read the disks (read the notes).
So far, each episode includes 18 or 19 chapters, and each disk includes almost all the software I used to make these DVD's and the master version of the menu graphics. The software included is open source and runs on Linux. I also included the Windows version of the GIMP (it is like Photoshop, but it's free) in addition to the Linux version that I used.
All Sci-fi Channel era episodes are presented in D1 (720x480) resolution, the maximum supported by DVD, and the best NTSC can manage. Comedey Central era episodes may be in 1/2 D1 (352x480) resolution to help preserve the most image quality possible from degrading VHS tapes, which blur horizontally anyway, so 1/2 D1 works pretty well. The only trade off other than reduced resolution is increased compression and thus more compression artifacts, which is why I even consider 1/2 D1 resolution. I'll only use it if it looks at least decent, but that is a relative comparison when considering the older episodes.
