Franklin Harris was born in 1971 in Athens, Ala. He spent his early years in rural Limestone County, where he faced the hardship of life without cable television.

In 1993, he graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University with a B.A. degree in Political Science and Economics. He used this expertise in 1996 to run for the U.S. House of Representatives as a candidate of the Libertarian Party. (He lost.)

Franklin has written articles for Reason magazine, Rue Morgue, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Freeman, The Free Market, The Huntsville (Ala.) Times, LewRockwell.com and numerous other publications. His poetry appeared in the Elk River Review.

Franklin resides in Athens, Ala., and has had cable TV for years.
