on upgrades to carb, fuel system, exhaust.
Replaced
the 870CFM Holley Street Avenger with a 1000 CFM Holley HP.
The 870 was too small to supply the engine. The measured vacuum at wide open throttle
was rather high (5psi).
The vacuum secondary diaphram ruptured early in testing and was
replaced. So to prevent future
occurrences the vacuum secondary carb was replaced with a mechanical secondary
carb.
Upgraded
the fuel supply between the fuel pump and the tank.
Replaced
the –6AN line with –8AN hose.
Replaced
the 90 GPH paper filter with a high flow screen type filter rated 390 GPH.
Upgraded
the exhaust system.
Replaced
the restrictive Edelbrock shorty headers with Hooker Comp full length ceramic
coated headers.
Replaced
the Edelbrock RPM mufflers and exhaust with SLP stainless steel mandrel bent 3”
dual exhaust and mufflers.
