Super Villains Encountered by Rom

This is a complete list of all the villains (or other beings generally cast as "the bad guy(s)") that Rom encountered in his travels. If someone only appeared in Rom, but did not actually encounter Rom, the entry will say "Appeared" instead of "Encountered." Non-continuity appearances (insignificant flashbacks, etc.) are usually not included. People who appeared as part of a team will have the name of the team in braces after their name. For other denizens of the Marvel Universe that Rom encountered, see the lists of super heroes and cosmic beings.

Stardust
Encountered (First app.): Rom Annual #1
Real name: T'urin G'ar
Base of operations: Outer space
Known relatives: The Body
History: The being that became Stardust was originally an energy being who was part of a collective known as the Body. He was expelled for unmutual acts and bound in bands of "starstuff." He found his way to Earth and discovered two races inhabiting the planet: humans and Dire Wraiths. He first absorbed most of the energy of several human children, but found he was able to get more energy by absorbing Wraiths (killing them), so he began seeking them out. When Rom found him and asked that he return the life force stolen from the children, Stardust attacked him as an enemy. Rom defeated him in the end, healing the children and releasing the villain back into the cosmos with just enough power to survive (Rom Annual #1). He was later captured and held captive by the Stranger (Quasar #14, 16).

Tyreseus (Pulsar II)
Encountered (First app./Death): Rom Annual #4
Real name: Tyreseus
Base of operations: Shi'ar space
Known relatives: None
History: Tyreseus was a Calurnian, a warrior race conquered by the Shi'ar. He was the doctor assigned to the Shi'ar dreadnought that found Pulsar drifting throught space in a force-sphere. After Pulsar died, he decided to have himself grafted to Pulsar's armor and rebel against the Shi'ar. The first thing he did was destroy the ship he had been assigned to. Shortly thereafter, Rom, Scanner, Seeker, and Trapper were captured by a second Shi'ar ship containing Gladiator and another contingent of the Imperial Guard. The Spaceknights and Gladiator ultimately tracked Tyreseus down to a nearby asteroid after Rom had been forced to neutralize his powers. Gladiator struck a mortal blow, but the Spaceknights kept him from executing Tyreseus so they could hear his story before he died. The Spaceknights then buried Tyreseus in Pulsar's armor on the asteroid.
