A DOPPLER - TYPE VHF RADIO DIRECTION FINDER
FOR HAMS, HOBBYISTS, AND EXPERIMENTERS

COMPLETE technical information is provided here. Theory, schematics, parts lists, PCB images, etc.

If you want one of these, you must build it yourself, I no longer offer PC boards. As an alternative, look at the PicoDopp DF by clicking on the image shown below.

NEW ! The "Next Generation" Doppler DF...( Aug 2003 )

Economy and simplicity, but LOTS of features.

For maybe 99 people out of every 100, the PicoDopp is much more suitable than the "old" Doppler DF
that is described on THIS website... take a minute to look at it, you won't regret it...

The Doppler DF has various configurations and options :

The basic Doppler unit with 16 display LEDs, relative bearings.
A digital readout 3 digits, relative bearings.
A serial RS232 output ( Agrello DF format, APRS compatible )
NEW !... A "Combination" display ( RS232 input, pelorus + numeric display )
HOT !... Display software for IBM PC's ( free downloads ) with a simulation mode.
WARM !... Display software for Palm PDA's ( free downloads ) with a simulation mode.
An electronic compass to "North stabilize" the computer displays... VERY useful.
A miniature antenna array radome enclosed, to 1 GHz. (11 November 2000)

MAGDOPP PIC program reports DF bearings in magnetic degrees. (2 March 2001)

Doppler theory including some stuff you'll never see anywhere else..

... And some "non - Doppler" devices and circuits are here :

NEW !... The SquawkBox Transmitter A T-hunt transmitter with voice record / playback chip ( Oct 2002 )
A Polar Plot DF with Palm PDA Display Portable and calibrated ! 50+ db dynamic range. (12 May 2002)
A portable TDOA unit with acoustic feedback, to keep your hands and eyes free.

An 80C52 / BASIC - 52 single board computer (12 May 2001)
An IBM/PC download program for the SBC (16 June 2001)

( The SBC is not related to DF technology, but it's pretty neat ! )
Includes an 8K BASIC interpeter, RS232 port, and an onboard EPROM programmer
With room for an 18 pin PIC chip. (for I/O functions)

[Deutsche Partner-Seite von Bob's WB6EYV Doppler-Peiler]

I get my circuit boards made at Custom PCB in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... done it for years, very pleased with them.

They take direct CAD files from many CAD programs, so no fussing with Gerber or drill files.

Great service, quality and prices. Silver plating is standard, three day delivery to the U.S., build and test services available also.

The 80C52 single board computer has been moved to the website of Design Consultants...

all the information is still free and available there, but clicking on these links will
