The Electrical Water Pageant, running continuously in the waters of Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon since October 26th, 1971, is a popular attraction at Walt Disney World. Thousands of lights are strung along giant mesh screens built upon 14 barges that make up the 1000 foot long parade. These lights form creatures such as a dragon, a dinosaur, an octopus and dolphins. The barges are also equipped with a powerful sound system through which a number of tunes are played, culminating in a star spangled salute to America. The parade runs nightly and is only canceled during high winds or bad weather. The bright colors and synthesized music of the EWP inspired its designers to create an all new parade for Disneyland and later WDW called the "Main Street Electrical Parade". The MSEP debuted at Disneyland in 1972 and at WDW on June 11, 1977. The EWP can be seen from the following resorts at these approximate times:

Polynesian - 9:00 pm

Grand Floridian - 9:15 pm

Wilderness Lodge - 9:35 pm

Fort Wilderness - 9:45 pm

Contemporary - 10:05 pm
