Pave
(To the tune of M. Jackson's Heal the World)

[spoken by a child] Think about the road trips and all the times you wanted to go somewhere and it was too far 'cause there was mountains in the way and a kid can only hold it so long because your dad doesn't want to stop at a Seven-Eleven so you can go potty so we need to make the world a better place and we need roads to go everywhere and we should pave it.

[music begins]

There's a place in this land where you really want to go,
And I doubt there's a road to go straight there.
So we can pave another road and make it straighter than the first
So the road miles will be closer to the air.
It'd be awesome, travel times much shorter.
You could drive it straight, without being late.

Pave the world!
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race.
We can screw all the nature,
It doesn't really matter,
Just pave the world for you and for me.

Why would we even try, there's a perfect reason why,
We desire to take over the whole planet!
We will start at the heart of a great metropolis
And expand 'til we've conquered all the places!
If you don't believe it, just look all around you
It will be complete, all the concrete.

Pave the world!
Make it a parking lot,
With asphalt all over it will be scorching hot.
Oh, we'll cook our breakfast,
And even lunch and dinner.
On a parking lot for you and for me.

And the road we once imagined will be drivable,
Everyone will have to buy a motor home.
No more lawns to mow, or yardwork to be done,
So it's plain to see the task is simply - pave the world

Pave the world!
Make it a flatter land
For you and for me and the road construction man.
Oh yeah, We'll drive to Europe,
And then 'round to Australia,
Just pave the world for you and for me.

There's a lot of work to do for folks the like me and you,
We could pave over all the clear blue oceans.
There'd be no more storms and no more hurricanes
That could mess up all of our new buildings.
We could control it, we'd control the environment
On a flatter earth, on a simpler earth.

Pave the world!
Make it a better place.
We'll make up new jobs to construct a brand-new face.
There'll be low unemployment,
The best one could imagine.
Just pave the world for you and for me.

Pave the world!
Make it a dryer land.
No oceans or rivers where you might wash your hands.
We'll have new microbes,
And deadlier diseases,
Just pave the world for you and for me.

Pave the world!
Make it a blacker place,
To camouflage earth with the deepest outer space.
We'll be in hiding,
The Vogons won't find us,
Just pave the world for you and for me.

You will cross the ocean
And never even know it,
Just pave the world for you and for me.

We can screw all the nature,
It doesn't really matter,
Just pave the world for you and for me.

Pave the world!
-- For you and for me.

Pave the world!
-- Pave the world we live in.

Pave the world!
-- Pave it for our children.
