Information for 1938 Mercury will be Morning Star about January 20, May 19 and September 13; and Evening Star about April 2, July 31 and November 25. Venus will be Morning Star till February 3; then Evening Star till November 20; and then Morning Star again the rest of the year. Jupiter will be Evening Star till January 29; then Morning Star till August 20; and then Evening Star again the rest of the year. ECLIPSES In the year 1938 there will be four Eclipses, two of the Sun and two
of the Moon. I.--A Total Eclipse of the Moon, May 13-14. The beginning visible generally
to North America except the extreme northern part, South America and the
eastern part of Australia; the ending visible generally in the central
and western part of North America, the western part of South America, Australia
and the northeastern extremity of Asia. II.--A Total Eclipse of the Sun, May 29. Invisible to North America.
Visible to the southern parts of South America and Africa. III.-- A Total Eclipse of the Moon, November 7. The beginning visible
generally in Europe, Asia, the western part of Australia, Africa, the extreme
northeastern part of North Ameica and the extreme eastern part of South
America; the ending visible generally in central and western Asia, Europe,
Arica, North America except the western and northwestern parts of South
America. IV.--A Partial Eclipse of the Sun, November 21. Visible to the extreme western part of North America and the extreme western part of North America and the extreme eastern part of Asia. |
