AGE:
Mid thirties (around 34)
HEIGHT:
5'6"
WEIGHT:
Approximately 115 lbs. (a guess)
HAIR:
Brown. Shoulder length in second season. Short, boyish cut in third season.
EYES:
Hazel
YEARS ON FORCE (RCMP):
We can assume at a minimum of a 15 years since she had three stars on her sleeve
(Red, White or Blue).
PERSONAL PROFILE:
After Fraser's first superior in Chicago (Inspector Moffat) was promoted, Inspector
Thatcher arrived on the scene. She appeared to be a no-nonsense Mountie who didn't
care for Fraser's antics under her command and, at first, tried to transfer him
out. She soon realized what a good Mountie -- and man -- Fraser was, and kept him
on. However, she soon found herself attracted to him in a rather unprofessional manner.
Ray's nickname for her is 'The Dragon Lady'. Fraser nearly always calls
her Inspector (although once called her "Ma'am" and has used
Sir), while other people who have known her from the Ottawa days sometimes
call her Margaret or Meg. Stan once called her the Ice Queen.
FAMILY:
We've heard briefly about her father, but we don't know if he's alive or dead.
No mention of siblings, previous marriages, or children.
LOVE LIFE:
No former boyfriends mentioned; is currently interested in Fraser but doesn't know
how to deal with the situation (but then neither does he). She was sexually harrassed
once by Henri Cloutier. (We are the Eggmen)
FRIENDS:
Have not seen any while she's been in Chicago, yet she does have friends in the RCMP,
mostly in Ottawa.
RELIGION:
None mentioned.
HOME:
None mentioned.
INJURIES:
None mentioned.
ATTIRE:
She has a tendency to wear short dresses; but has been seen several times in her
red serge uniform. (All the Queen's Horses; Red, White or Blue; Mountie on the
Bounty, pt. 2)
MISCELLANEOUS:
- Wears glasses for reading. (Vault)
- Once had a pet daschund; it's deceased. (The Promise)
- Has sentimental attachment to garnet broach. (The Promise)
- Spent some time in Paris modeling when she was younger. (Mask)
- Exhibited jealously when Anita Cortez and Ida Banks paid attention to Fraser.
(The Edge)
- Can throw 1.3 ERA (baseball). (We are the Eggmen)
- Carries cellphone. (We are the Eggmen)
- A superior (inspector) from Moose Jaw was very important to her, more so than
her own father. (Some Like It Red)
- Has similar background, workwise, to Fraser. (All the Queen's Horses)
- Knows semaphore. (Red, White or Blue)
- At one point, she was seriously considering adopting a baby (Perfect
Strangers) but Fraser totally misconstrued her intent when she asked for his
'help.' In the episode Odds, Fraser was seen working on adoption papers,
so perhaps she is following through with this idea.
- Was involved in something known as "The Incident" with Sgt. Sam Thorne
(Mountie on the Bounty, pt. 2). No elaboration was ever provided, but
it mustn't have been any fun, ahem.
