License Plate Sightings
In the entertainment industry, the props department frequently reuses items because the vast majority
of viewers are oblivious to that kind of 'recyling.' However, some of us due South fans noticed
that a particular license plate, RCW 139, got a lot of air time in the show.
I've kept a running list of the plate's 'cameo' appearance, in chronological list. Just be warned,
there may be some "spoiler" information listed below if you haven't seen all of the episodes.
Season 1
- Free Willie
- Seen on the car used by Caroline Morgan and her cohorts to chase after Willie.
- Pizza & Promises
- Seen on Lenny Milano's car before it was stolen.
- Gift of the Wheelman
- Seen on the red station wagon used as a getaway car by the Donnelley brothers during their Christmas Eve bank robbery.
- You Must Remember This
- Seen on the car driven and abandoned by Frank Bodine.
- The Wild Bunch
- Seen on the clunker Chevrolet Ray got from the motor pool after his Buick was blown up.
- The Blue Line
- Seen on a silver Lexus driven by Paul Henderson, Mark Smithbauer's assistant.
- An Invitation to Romance
- Seen on one of two cars that nearly flattened Katherine Burns when she stepped into the street.
- Victoria's Secret
- Seen on the big American car driven by Jolly.
Season 2
- Bird in the Hand
- Used by FBI Agent Borland. Ray either let the air out of the tires on this vehicle, or slashed the tire.
- Bird in the Hand
- Was then used in same episode in car that McFadden and his crooked cronies used to try to get away.
- Some Like It Red
- Seen on the blue GMC van driven by Johnstone.
- Flashback
- Seen on the kidnappers van - the same one from which Fraser fell.
Season 3
Season 4
- Mojo Rising
- Seen on the stripped and abandoned car that Stan thinks might be his missing GTO.
- Dead Men Don't Throw Rice
- Seen on the bronze 1984 Crown Victoria that the bad guys use to take the bodies away.
