Brief Synopsis

Gerrard, the man who killed Fraser's father, escapes while in Chicago to offer testimony. Now the FBI wants Fraser to find him and bring him in alive.

Detailed Overview

Fraser finds himself caught between his duty and his emotions when he is forced to protect the man who killed his father from a group of gun smugglers.

The tables turn when Fraser must protect Gerrard, the man who murdered his own father. Expected to appear on trial as a witness, Gerrard is the focal point of some elusive killers determined to see him dead rather than testify.

Concerned in the serving of justice over personal revenge, Fraser harbors Gerrard and refuses to release him to the federal agents. In the face of threats of obstruction of justice, Fraser guarantees that he will deliver Gerrard personally for his trail date. But his good intentions are marred when rogue agents get to Gerrard and attempt to silence him permanently.

Fraser denies his personal history and saves Gerrard's life in an affront against his own feelings and the ghost of his dead father who eggs on his son to execute something other than legal justice.

Interesting Trivia

  • This is the first episode that Fraser Sr.'s ghost appears to someone other than his son.
  • The infamous RCW 139 license plate actually shows up two times in this episode. First on the car that Agent Borland was driving (which Ray later flattened the tire of) and later in the episode on the car that Agent MacFadden and his cronies tried to escape in.
  • Dean McDermott (Constable Turnbull) returns to the show as a good guy as a fairly regular appearing character. Dean played one of the bad guys in the Season 1 episode "The Man Who Knew too Little."
  • Matt Birman (ATF Agent #1) appeared as Donald in the Season 1 episode "Free Willie."
  • Philip Williams (Lloyd P. Nash) appeared in the due South Pilot episode as Herb Lantrell.
