Fraser begins his new life in Chicago by moving into an apartment, and immediately apprehends a young purse snatcher who is in possession of a gun used in a robbery.

Detailed Overview

Constable Benton Fraser sets out to prove the innocence of a twelve year-old purse snatcher who is accused of taking part in an armed robbery. Although the boy, Willie, is a chronic thief and liar, Fraser convinces his friend, Detective Ray Vecchio, to trust in the boy's basic goodness -- as well as his claim that he can lead them to the true criminals -- even though clearing the boy will mean putting Ray's job on the line.

When the investigation attracts the attention of the guilty parties, Willie is targeted for removal. In an unorthodox chase through the streets of Chicago, involving speeding vehicles, a snarling wolf, and Fraser and Ray at the reins of a horse-drawn carriage, our heroes must rescue Willie and bring the criminals to justice.

• Christina Cox, who plays the bank robber Caroline Morgan, returns in the season 2 episode "Vault" to plague the boys once more.
• Kevin Rushton shows up in this episode as the rooftop construction worker who lends Ray his ladder.
• Rummy Bishop makes his first appearance on the show as the cleaner salesman. He also makes appearances as other characters in the episodes "An Eye for an Eye" and "Some Like it Red".
