ScottC: I have David and Paul with me now. PPlease no private messages to me. understan

gabs: okay folks, I'm waiting for questions??

*fmouse*: For both Paul and David: What do you think of the internet fandom? Any postings you've seen that amsued or shocked you?

DAVID: I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of response that we get, and they are very intelligent people.

PAUL: and they are a lot smarter than we are.

DAVID: I've used a lot of what they have said about my character in my work and it has helped me immensly. Especially thos from Australia.

*France*: being French Canadian I do have to ask this, do you speak or understand French or any do you understand any other langages??

    DAVID: no

PAUL: I can stumble thru french and I am fluent in Mandarin

    DAVID: no he's not.

    PAUL: Oh right, I'm not.

DAVID: But I heard he speaks Swahili

*erc*: wants to know if TDL is a good kisser! :)

PAUL: On what kind of scale?

    DAVID: I hear she's great :-)

*Chantal*: would like to ask what DM and PG's fave eps are :)

PAUL: All the Queens horses, North, Victoria's Secret, and Gift of the Wheel

DAVID: NOrth, Juliet is Bleeding, The Deal

*Keitz*: I would like thank Paul and David for the picture they sent me and for being such class acts.

    PAUL: OUr pleasure.

*MomAndBug*: for PG... if you had to give up all but one aspect of your career, what would you continue to do? (write, act, sing...or ?)

PAUL: Write, I think. It's more independant, more self sufficient.

*fmouse*: any amusing anecdotes (oh come on, there have to be some amusing stories to tell!)

DAVID: For F mouse- Our hairstylist uses a weed whacker to cut our hair. :-)

*bren*: for Paul: My friend Susan calmed her pre-doctoral-dissertation - defence nerves by watching my tape of AtQH. She succeeded, and thanks you. Been humming your song ever since.

    PAUL / DAVID: Thank You

*|007|*: like to ask how PG gets in to character etc - a role model?

PAUL: I put on the suit.

*Jazz*: (Deb from Aussie thru Jazz) For David: Time & circumstances mean I couldn't make the chat today But I wanted to say Hello, I believe there are a number of DM Appreciateion Society on-line & we hope Ariana liked her package.

DAVID: Thanks to Deb (thru Jazz) - Yes.

*Alyssa*: What do Paul and David do in their spare time--when they have some?

    PAUL: Sleep.

DAVID: I like to cook and to fish.

*Shroomie*: and along the same vein... For both: What plans do you have for the summer, besides seeing your families and homes in daylight?

DAVID: Going and camping and fishing and house hunting.

PAUL: Camping and take up skydiving, and work on a screenplay.

*France*: Are you into politics??? David: being from the States what did you think of our "little fight" we had a few months ago between Quebec and the rest of Canda?? What about you Paul?? :)

DAVID: I think there is more poweer in unity. Everyone should stand up for what the believe in. But the comone welfare of the whole should come first.

PAUL: I echo what David says and think we should have a look to other areas in the world like the former Yugoslavia. And realize how fortunate we are.

*ClaireOKC*: ask PG how he keeps all his talents in tune - doesn't he find it frustrating to do one and not another?

PAUL: The lack of time I find frustrating.

*Chantal*: As a Texas fan, I loved "Ride Forever". A similar spirit pervades the horse-riding terrain down here. PG- do you ride? and if so, was this your inspiration?

PAUL: Yes I ride. My Parents have a ranch in Alberta and the terrain is very similar than Texas.

*|007|*: To PG: I saw you on BBC (childrens, yes i watched it just to see you =) was it as bad as other celebs make it out - the CBBC interview?

PAUL: Yeah, that was pretty bad. They were nice guys but it was terrifiying.

*fmouse*: for both Paul and David: is there anything you'd like to see happen with your character in the next season?

DAVID: Explore Ray's personal life further.

    PAUL: Save the world.

*Polgara*: for Paul: Do you have any other scripts in the works?

PAUL: Yes. A couple of screenplays, and a couple of ideas for Due South if we get renewed.

*hollyds*: Is there any plans for david to write or eitehr to direct?

    DAVID: Possibly.

PAUL: Yes, he's directing next season.

*Lillian*: Greetings from Chicago! When Due South is renewed (thinking positively) do you think you'll be back here to film more than just establishing shots?

DAVID / PAUL: We'd like to if the logistics of both budget and time permit it.

*France*: Some people on the list were asking about Poutine and what they are and us Canadians had to explain to them, David have you had a chance to try one??? :)

    DAVID: NO I'm sorry I haven't.

PAUL: And doesn't know what he's missing, he's very particular about his food.

DAVID: And my heart thanks me.

*MCB*: my 7 year old wants Ride Forever on CD, she's tired of playing the gemini tape over and over, any chance of that happing soon?

PAUL: Yeah, we are assembling a CD now, and should be ready by June.

*hollyds*: What is Lincoln like to work with?

PAUL: He's the best. Flawless and a hard worker.

DAVID: I've never worked with a smarter animal.

*BugsDad*: Paul. My father was in the RCD's and later the 8th Hussars in Gagetown in the 50's. When was your father a zipper head, and did you enjoy life in the Maritimes?

PAUL: I loved the maritimes, and I would have been there around 69/70.

*Alyssa*: For David: I enjoyed seeing Katayoun as Angie. Will she come back in the next season?

DAVID: Yes. And we will be further exploring their relationship, past, present and future

*Shroomie*: For Paul: (another closet rider here) Not that you're anywhere near retirement , but is that where/what you'd like to retire to (ranch in AB)?

PAUL: Yes, I don't think I ever will retire, but I'd like to spend more time in Alberta. Fewer people

*fmouse*: David: in Dec 95 you and Paul did a bunch of interviews via satellite for CBS. We've seen the tape of these - do you really think Canada is part of Europe (grin!)

DAVID: No, that was a joke.

PAUL: But he still maintains that Montreal is in Norway:-)

*|007|*: To both: How far can you realistically see the series going... everything goes past a point of no return... or is DS *the* exception

DAVID: DS is an exceptional show. To say how far it is going to go, that's out of our control. It's up to the fans, those who watch, and the Poewers that be. Mainly CBS

PAUL: I think any show has to change itself as it goes along or you run out of story lines so it needs to be constantly evolving If we continue to evolve then it could continue for a while.

*Mackenzie*: Paul,David: I want to thank you for all you have done. You'll never know how much your hard work has meant.

DAVID / PAUL: Thank you Kindly

*BonnieBug*: for PG or DM... Bonnie would *love* a puffin face from you two... any chances?

    * ScottC PUFFIN FACE gabs

    PAUL: Hello to PGEB!

*_Tony*: Question for David. IWorking in Canda, are the people really that nice, os is that just a bunch of hype? :)

*Jazz*: FOR PAUL: Hey, it's Jo (we met at the Way to Go reception)! I have received alot of questions about the colour of your eyes and for the record, what is the true colour of your eyes?

PAUL: Re: Eyes. Red, but in certain eyes - Blue TYPO - PAUL - Red, but in certain lights - Blue

ScottC: BTW - Scott is typing, not Paul and David - all typos are mine.

*hollyds*: we were wondering on the list. was the baby in The Deal Davids daughter

DAVID: No the Baby was rented :-)

*fmouse*: Paul and David: which episode was the hardest to make?

DAVID / PAUL: The Pilot was the hardesfor David to get

*France*: I have the most beautiful Black Labrador in the world, her name is Jessie, I just adore animals, Do you have any pets??

DAVID: NO pets, but my daughter loves Dogs. I'm sure we'll be getting one soon.

PAUL: NO pets, but my daughter thinks she's Diefenbaker.

*|007|*: To PG: Do they have toilets in Canada (ok, sorry, I had to say it =)

PAUL: Yes, but they are very cold.

*|007|*: To Either: How much time do you spend making 1 episode, and how much is fun (if any) ? oh and are there any plans to go on location (eg the UK ;) ?

DAVID / PAUL 8 days to shoot each episode. Most of it is fun

DAVID: No plans to shoot on Location

*starwind7*: for both: did you enjoying filming at Elora gorge?

DAVID: Yes very much so, go to do some fly fishing while I was there.

PAUL: If you'll recall I was blind so I didn't really get to see it.

*France*: since Paul had the chance to experience what it was like to be a woman any chance for David to get teh same opportunity?? :)

PAUL: Matter of fact, that's one of the episodes I'm writing

DAVID: I've told him I refuse to come out of my trailer if I have to wear a dress.

PAUL: I'm thinking jumpsuits, something sassy :-)

DAVID: Okay, only if I can wear a body stocking from Victoria's Secret underneath.

*KrisD*: pls ask which character they enjoyed having the most & would like to see return.

DAVID: I liked Garret from Heaven and Earth.

PAUL: I'd like to have Leslie (Frobisher) back again, just for the farts.

*Lindsay*: Who are their heroes? Are they filming anymore eps in Hamilton?

PAUL: we have no plans to film in Hamilton.

DAVID: I don't have any heroes, but people I admire. Martin Luther King, Depak Chopra, St. Jude...

*BugsDad*: Dave, how do you like driving the Riv? The last time I saw it it was having problems starting.

DAVID: I love driving the Riv. It's gotta lot of balls. (can I say that?)

*Mackenzie*: Paul, are there any plans for a CD for you and David Keeley? Weren't you in Nashville working on it?

PAUL: Yes, we are slowly recording it now, probably ready for release in July or August.

*hollyds*: My mother wants to know what they are going to do with the romance angle (ie Fraser and TDL) and ray

PAUL: We don't have any plans for that yet, and that is something that will have to be discussed and planned for next season.

DAVID: I don't plan on taking TDL out for drinks. Fraser and I are both Heterosexuals (PAUL - But I'm a free thinker) Could Angie and I get back together? - could Fraser and Frannie finally get together? These questions and others to be answered next season, or the season.....

*TraceW*: For David and Paul: What do you think of IRC, and would you consider doing any other online conferences?

PAUL: It's really neat, and yes I would do it again.

    DAVID: Ditto.

*starwind7*: for Paul: my high school yanniversary book has a picture of someone who looks identical to you but a few years younger; did you ever go to any Toronto high schools?

PAUL: Yes I went to Earl Haig.

*Dy*: Did you get to ask my question yet? If you missed it, here it is again...What's it like to be involved with a show with such an...interesting and devoted fan following?

DAVID: It's heartwarming. To quote Ray Davies "It's so lovely to be wanted"

PAUL: It makes the impossible hours and the general fatigue that you live with, all make sense. It seems worth it.

*hollyds*: How are the renewal vibs?

    PAUL: We are 50/50

DAVID: We are on the bubble.

PAUL: But, CBS has performed so brilliantly this season that they will probably need us again next year.

*dorothyn*: for Paul, what do you think of the PGEB? (Paul Gross Estrogen Brigade) ;)

PAUL: I'm a bit confused. Does it mean I have to take estrogen?

*Jo*: FOR DAVID What do you think of Toronto and do you ever miss home (New Jersey)? Paul: I'm the "mom" of the PGEB and would like to tell you that we all enjoy your work and no you don't have to take estrogen. :) And we would also like to say Hi. :)

DAVID: I love Toronto, it's one of my top 5 favourite cities. Yes, in the springtime, when I'm in Toronto frezzing my A** off.

*Jazz*: we have seen your writing, heard your writing and saw your acting.....seems like you can do it all but the question is.... do you dance as well? :)

PAUL: I am a natural born dancer, but I don't like to show off.

ScottC: THANKS EVERYONE. Paul and David must get back to work. They really enjoyed it, And will try to get back online again.

ScottC: Thank you Gabs. And thanks Gavin, next time we'll need MoDS.

    * fmouse hugging Scott in thanks from all of us
