White (Potable Water) Tank

	As you can see, the tank is actually blue in color. J It resides under the front gaucho above deck, and according to the owner’s manual holds 30 gallons.
The onboard water system (the pump is covered on another page) was the only system which was clearly broken before the previous owner retired the Airstream. The tank itself was fine with the exception of the cracked lower sight glass fitting. My guess, after looking at the damage, is that brass fitting which screwed into the tank probably had water in it at some point & froze.
	The tank appears to be made of polyethylene plastic which can only be repaired by heat welding as glues & resins will not stick to it for long. Luckily, my tank was not split open anywhere on the surface. Deciding to not use the sight glass for various reasons, I RTVed a brass plug in instead of the fitting.
Between the tank being under no pressure & the RTV being held in place by the plug (& vice-versa), the repair was a success. Number 2 son enjoyed the tank being drained.
