Day 50

The new window for the old master bedroom arrived and was installed today.  Bought primarily to allow exterior brick to be laid around the new Friend’s Entrance, the window looks good inside too since the old window, due to the new hall construction, was no longer centered on the available, interior wall space.

The masons were apparently warming up their mixer as the carpenters hung the new window since the exterior brick around the window was half finished by the time I got home from work.

A moment of silence, please, for the microwave oven.  It expired last evening after cooking/heating food daily since being purchased new in 1986.  Its Magnetron had finally had enough. L

Believe it or not, a new Magnetron is available online for $183.61 (plus shipping).  But since that is more than what new microwaves are currently going for, I believe the void in the kitchen will be filled with a current model.

Aunt Shirley would never forgive me if a shot of the Magnetron was not included:

While we are not lost in the kitchen without a microwave, the weather this evening was great for grilling.

The sheetrock was also delivered today.

It’s going to get really dusty around here soon!
