Credenza/Tabletop

Like the kitchen sink countertop, the credenza top gave its life to protect the floor from water leaking in through a broken acrylic window.  It provided just enough diversion to make the water drip on to the foam backed carpet instead of allowing it to run down the wall and rot the decking.

On the Day 1 cursory inspection, I thought the foldout tabletop was damaged, and ordered enough laminate to build a new one.  But, a couple of months later when the rebuild effort bubbled up to the ‘current’ list, the tabletop required only a good cleaning to be functional.  Eventually I will make a new tabletop so that the laminates match.  I have not done it yet because the substrate, for lightweightness, is a hollow core material, and I am not quite sure how I want to handle that issue.

I may just take my chances and apply the new laminate over the old.  I will update this page if I ever make up my mind.
