Note: This class will be completely on-line. There will be no in-class meeting.

Class tasks are due for submission by the start of Class 9.

Class material and assignments related to CLASS 9 will be tested in class  12.

TOPIC : Task Group Priorities

When working on a task in a group it is most efficient to work with people who have the same priorities that you do. This list will help you recognize how priorities might differ.

CLASS 9 TASK #1:

Instructions:

1. Rank order the following teamwork priorities. Use a number only once. No ties allowed.

   	1	=	indicates most important consideration
   	10	=	indicates least important consideration

2. Submit this task to your instructor
3. Bring a hard copy of the completed task to Class 9 to compare with your peers.

Grading Criteria:

• Submits priorities 1 through 10 = 50%
• No ties are allocated = 10%
• Does this prior to Class 9 = 20%
• Brings a hard copy of the completed task to Class 10 = 20%

CLASS 9 TASK #2:  THE NURSE'S ROLE IN THE HEALTH CARE TEAM

Type a one full-page paper (font size 12 or regular e-mail font) explaining the role of the professional nurse in the Health Care Team.

Explain how the nurse manages to carry out this role.  Use two nursing references dated 1995 or later.

Grading Criteria for Task #2:

• Appropriate references
  
  
• Explaination of nursing role reasonable and well expressed
  
  
• Methods of role performance reasonable and well expressed
  
  
• Essay is unique - not a string of paraphrases; not similar to submissions of classmates
  
  
• Submitted by the start of Class 9.
  

CLASS 9 TASK #3:  MEDICATION CALCULATION - ASSIGNMENT ON PERCENTAGE SOLUTIONS

Answer the questions on the medication calculation assignment and submit these answers to the instructor.
