- Read Meltzer Ch. 9 (details).
- To pass most nursing tests a student needs to know details as well as main ideas. The public that depends on nurses to care for them expects nurses to know the details of their conditions and the details of their care. Find a medical-surgical nursing textbook. (The library will have many in the nursing section.) Read one section. Find an example of each of the following:
- Data
- Cause
- Procedure
- Example
- Description
- Using what you have read as an example, be prepared to
discuss in specific terms how details r/t assessing and giving nursing care influence a
client's well being.
- Find a Nursing Diagnosis book (again the library will have some in the nursing section)and look at the categories of information given for each diagnosis. Consider how the list of "defining characteristics" and the list of "related factors" can be used to form a list of questions to ask a client and a list of observations to be made of the client.
