CNN backing away from Thompson hire over nudes?

CNN backing away from Thompson hire over nudes?
Posted Friday, April 27, 2001, 8:25AM CDT by Franklin Harris
The Industry Standard [Note: This story seems to have been removed.] reports that CNN may be backing away from its decision to hire former "Babylon 5" and "NYPD Blue" actress Andrea Thompson after learning that nude photos of the actress are circulating on the Internet. (And what actress who has done nude scenes doesn't have nudes on the 'net, might I ask? CNN didn't know this? Some reporters they are.) The network is considering the actress as an anchor for its Headline News channel. For her part, Thompson says she doesn't regret her past nude scenes.

The Standard writes: "Most damning to CNN, it seems, were her nude scenes in a 1986 Italian erotic film called 'Manhattan Gigolo.'" The film includes two soft-core sex scenes with Thompson's character having (simulated) sex with multiple partners. (The movie doesn't appear to be available on video or DVD; I've checked.)
