454 SS

 The 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS is a high performance full size pickup that mated the C1500 standard two wheel drive cab with the 454 cubic inch / 7.4 liter V-8, 3 speed turbo hydromatic transmission and a 3.73 rear axle ratio with a Locking rear differential. The engine(90 Model) produced 230 hp, 385 foot pounds of torque. Other performance Hardware includes a Performance Handling Package, P275/60R-15 Black wall tires on Special 454 SS rims, and bilstien gas shocks. The interior comes equipped with a special plush Garnet Red cloth interior and high-back reclining sport bucket seats with a Center Console. Exterior, only available in Onyx Black.

 The 1991-93 Chevrolet 454 SS models years have the following changes/improvements. an improved 7.4 liter (454 Cu. In.) V8 with 255 net HP at 4000rpm, and 405 lb.-ft net of torgue at 2400 rpm, a 4 speed 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission, a 4.10 rear axle ratio. An improved instrument cluster which includes a tachometer. Available in Onyx Black, Victory Red and Summit White.

 Other 454SS standard featues include luxury-level Silverado trim with special blackout effects, plus-tinted glass, halogen composite headlamps. Standard interior features include. a special plush Garnet Red cloth interior (red, blue, and grey available on the 91-93), special high-back reclining sport bucket seats, center console. a driver convenience group, consisting of electronic speed control and comfortilt 4-spoke sport steering wheel. an electronicly tuned a/fm stereo radio with cassette player, digital clock and graphic equilizer, air conditioning, a sliding rear window, an operating convience Group consisting of power door locks and power windows, a gage cluster with tachometer, color keyed floor mats, an auxiliary lighting package, and intermittent windshield wipers.

 The 454SS trucks were produced from 1990 to 1993 at the GM, Ft. Wayne, Indiana Assembly Plant.
