This homepage is a celebration of the human desire to go beyond ourselves and to build hope from deep tragedy. It is here to tell you of the fellowship we have sought to establish in remembrance of Dr. Kyoung Hye Moon whose young life was taken by cancer in her 35th year. With this fellowship we seek to both honor Dr. Moon's life and to provide an inspiration to the young scientists of the world. You will find details of this remarkable, beautiful and dignified Korean national who through her industry, delightful personality and love of cosmic ray science became a popular and effective member of the cosmic ray group at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, in Huntsville, AL. USA. However, no celebration of Dr. Moon could be possible without telling of the science of cosmic rays that she loved. Nor would it be complete with out discussing the prestigious School of Cosmic Ray Astrophysics and its director Prof. Shapiro, or of the Center for Scientific Culture in ERICE, Sicily, Italy, where the school and fellowship are held.
