Notice: Some Saturday Races Delayed There will be a 20 to 40 minute race start time delay for some criterium races on Saturday, including the Kids Rocket Races. Also, due to a lack of registration the Adaptive Races have been cancelled. New for 2012!! Omnium Race Weekend An omnium rewards racers for overall ability, with a separate prize list in addition to the individual race prizes. The omnium results will be based on a racer's placing in all three races: the Saturday morning TT, the Saturday criterium races, and Sunday’s Bicycle Cove circuit races. Omniums will pay in SIX categories: Women 3-4, Women Pro 1-2, and Juniors - 5 deep, Cat 4 and Cat 3 Men - 10 deep, Pro 1-2 Men - 7 deep. Check the racers page for more information. Update: Juniors now have a discounted 3-race omnium fee of $50! 
Attention Women and Junior Women Racers!! The RCC women’s purse is over $2,000! Women’s races pay 5-7 deep, except for the TT. But, sign–up for the short uphill TT to be eligible for the Women’s omnium in Cat 3-4 or Pro 1-2. There is also a Cat 3 Bonus for men and women who wish to race more and enter the Pro 1-3 races; all race fees after the first two are $10 per race. All Juniors get discounted race fees and there are separate purses for men and women juniors. 
Adaptive Cycling Events Thanks to SAIC of Huntsville’s generous support, this year’s races include two days of racing for adaptive cyclists. Separate wheelchair and handcycling races will be held each day and paracyclist participants will enjoy a separate purse in the USA Cycling races. Veteran paracyclists have a 50% discount on all fees. |  |

Saturday | New Race - 1.8 Mile Uphill Time Trial | A time trial is an individual race against the clock. Saturday morning’s time trial travels up historic Bankhead Blvd 1.3 miles to the top of Monte Sano Mountain, finishing with a flat 0.5 miles inside the State Park. |
| State Championship Criterium | | A criterium is a bicycle race on a short closed loop. The state championship returns again to Huntsville! Saturday’s criterium will be held in downtown Huntsville on a 0.8 mile course with six turns. Located adjacent to a park and within walking distance of the host hotel, it’s a great location for spectators and a fast course for the racers. |
| ERC Kids Rocket Races |  | The kid’s races will be held on the State Championship Criterium course on Saturday also, here’s the Kids Races Flyer and Registration Form. These races are a wonderful opportunity for children to challenge themselves, and thanks to ERC’s generous support all kids (unlicensed racers 12 & under) race for free! |

| Sunday - Bicycle Cove Circuit Race |  | We’re happy to have the support of Huntsville’s newest Bike Shop, Bicycle Cove. The 3.1 mile circuit course loops in Research Park near the Bridge Street outdoor shopping mall. Passing some of Huntsville’s largest corporate offices, the course includes three right turns. |

Sponsorship TOC Sports/Huntsville Hospital Sports Center is the official RCC Sports Medicine Provider with on-site Huntsville Hospital Sports Center Certified Athletic Trainers at the RCC. Five Guys Burgers and Fries is the official burger of the RCC, supplying lunches for all the volunteers during the race weekend. Cycling events attract large numbers of cycling enthusiasts and spectators from all over the southeast and provide an excellent opportunity to promote your business to a highly desirable target market, as well as generate community good will.
