| Pack all clothing in waterproof bags, even if the trunk bag or pannier manufacturer claims they're waterproof. |
| Compress clothing inside bags before sealing to reduce bulk (sit on them :o). |
| A waterproof lightweight wallet is handy. |
| Discover Card is not accepted some places. |
| Lightweight nylon clothing packs smaller and lighter, and dries faster. |
| An extra pair of socks is always nice, especially if it rains. |
| Wool works well for touring. |
| A couple of extra plastic bags can come in handy. |
| Check tires for wear, cuts and sidewall bubbles. |
| Strong true wheels are important (especially if you're heavy) |
| A 25mm+ tire on the rear is more reliable, and a smoother ride (again, especially if you're heavy) |
