You will note the word unconfirmed by several names; the reason is that I believe
that Thomas H Armstrong was William Donald's father but cannot prove it. In
the 1850 Census records, Thomas H is listed as having a son, William, age 3.
There is no middle name given for William but the age would be right based on
William Donald's dob of 1847. Also, there is a document in the family
that states "William Donald Armstrong's parents may have been Thomas H.
Armstrong and Charlotte Cone". (Cone could have been Cole and was misread
or mistranslated from other records.)
