FAMILIAR

RING

Barbershop harmony washes away from the soul, the dust of every day life.

Welcome to the home site of Familiar Ring. "What is a Familiar Ring?", you might ask. Familiar Ring is a Barbershop quartet, specializing in four part, a cappella, close harmony. The quartet was registered with the Barbershop Harmony Society, aka The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, in 1990 and has been singing ever since. We are also proud to be associated with the Huntsville Metropolitan Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, which is our home chapter, and the Dixie District, SPEBSQSA.

Although the quartet was registered in 1990, there have also been several personnel changes. Here is the current configuration of Familiar Ring. These pictures were taken between 6:30 am and 8:00 am at Big Spring Park in Huntsville in April of 2006. The City was preparing for Pan-O-Ply, the annual showcase of arts, crafts, and talent. The quartet was asked to perform for the local radio and TV stations to use for advertising Pan-O-Ply on their news spots throughout the day.

From left to right in all four pictures are:

Fred, singing baritone; Larry D, singing bass; Brown, singing tenor; and Kurt, singing the lead part.

And, here is Familiar Ring singing for the Tut Fann Veteran's Home in Huntsville:

And here we are in leisure mode:
