LARRY'S WORLD OF BARBERSHOP

Barbershop singing not only is my hobby, but it is my way of life! I belong to the Rocket City Chorus which is the performing chorus for the Huntsville Metropolitan Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA). Whew! Do you see why we call it SPEBSQSA?  I have sung in several quartets, the last one named Upbeat but we lost our tenor and were unable to find a replacement. I also sang in a gospel/barbershop quartet called Gateway. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on how you the viewer look at it) I don't have pictures of either of these quartets, but I do have pictures of previous quartets 4 Gone Conclusions, High Society, and B-Sharp.

Nell and I, either before or after a performance at the Huntsville Hilton Hotel. This is when I was a member of 4 Gone Conclusions whom you will see later on (that is, if you stay with me that long).

Nell getting me ready for a chorus performance. As long as she was able, she never missed a performance or a rehearsal.

This is after Nell had me ready and made me look pretty! (Except I blew it 'cause my tie is crooked.)

My first International Convention in Kansas City, 1989. A week in Kansas City hearing some of the best Barbershop singing, what could be better? Nell and I went with our dear friends Tom and Pinky. Here we are relaxing in a restaurant; Larry, Tom, Pinky, and Nell.
