Welcome to Sam Buchanan's STALKERV6 project web page! This site includes construction details of the fabrication of my STALKERV6 automobile. This car is a kit inspired by the 1959 Lotus Seven; the easiest way to characterize the Stalker is to imagine an Americanized Lotus Seven on steroids. The Stalker was designed by Dennis Brunton, and is produced by Brunton Automotive located in Bradenton, Florida.

The Stalker is my first effort at a kit car, but not my first shop project. The past several years have had my shop stuffed with airplane projects, along with the occasional cedar strip canoe projects. The RV Journal details the misdeeds and adventures in my pursuit of experimental aviation.

Yes, there are a host of reasonably priced used cars on the market that provide great performance and factory-built utility. But the decision to build goes far beyond monetary values. It reaches out to that urge many of us have to create something wonderful from a box of ordinary matter. It is the desire to begin a project that will give us the incentive to look forward to the next little challenge in our spare time instead of wasting away in front of some mind-numbing TV sitcom. It is the source of pride that insures that every visitor to our home gets detoured through the shop on their way out to their car. It is the dream that someday we will be able to experience the sense of accomplishment that only comes from driving a vehicle on the local byways that was birthed in our backyard shop.

The decision to build a car is not one reached through a rational mindset. It is a decision that is made because we have to do it! It makes no sense, but neither does love, children and taxes. And so, herein is the story of STALKERV6 #29.
