2/17/2011; Engine installation is complete.
Update: After flight tests began, it became apparent the
fuel pump was unnecessary. It was removed after assuring there was adequate head pressure
from the cowl fuel tank.

Update 3/26/2012; I never was happy with the tiny nylon
hose sending oil pressure to the gauge. I had one of those lines break on a VW many years
ago so I decided to to upgrade to something more substantial.
A gauge with a 1/8" NPT fitting was purchased from a racing shop so a
stainless braided AN3 hose could be installed. Shown in the 90* fitting that makes a tidy
installation and is far more secure than the little nylon hose.

The stroker engine requires more crankcase venting than the smaller
engines. The photo below shows the termination of the main vent hose.

Considerable thought went into designing a throttle cable connection that
would be reliable. The fittings that came with the carb depended on a tiny hairclip to
hold the cable to the throttle arm, and having engine power dependent on the clip was
unacceptable. Pictured is the cable terminated with a sleeve and nicopress fitting which
is attached to the throttle arm with a drilled 1/4" bolt. The spring maintains
tension on the pull cable.

Prop is a Tennessee Props 58 x 24. The exhaust stacks are painted with VHT
Header Paint.
