Walter's 1969 Beetle

The interior is nearing completion. The doors have been assembled with all new seals and hardware and the front seats will be ready for the car in a day or so. The new door and side panels are the perfect complement for the new carpet and dash and really make the interior look great. Oh yes, the Beetle is now running! After the ignition timing was set and a gallon or so of gas was poured in the tank, the starter was tasked with spinning the engine until it fired and settled into a very quiet (the new exhaust system really is effective!) and smooth idle. Electrical checks have been completed and all that remains in that regard is installing lights after the car is painted. All the dash lights are now functioning so Walter won't have to drive with a flashlight in his teeth so see the speedometer.
