Black Box, like many other companies such as Hewlett Packard, Compaq, etc.,
sells KVM switches that are made by Avocent/Cybex and others. The high end Black Box
products (ServSwitch & ServeSwitch Multi) are standard Cybex switches with the trademarked switch logo
changed from the Cybex logo to the Black Box logo. The color of the AutoView cases are also
changed from beige to black and the name changed to ServSwitch.
For example: The Black Box ServSwitch Multi Base Unit, Model KV150A-R2 is actually
a Cybex XP4040D Chassis. Both companies list this unit for $995. We sell the
Cybex XP4040D for $325. Cybex lists this unit in a rackmount version (XP4040R) for $1,045.
Black Box sells a rackmount conversion kit for $59. We sell the XP4040R for $375.
If you insist on the Black Box logo we will swap the face plate for free.
