THY KINGDOM COME
DANIEL 7:1-28
During the reign of Belshazzar, Daniel saw a vision of the coming kingdom of Jesus Christ (Is. 9:6-7; Zech. 14:9; Lk. 1:32-33; Rev. 11:15).
I. Setting (7:1, 15-16, 28)

B. Prophecy (chapters 7-12)
1. See (“he saw a word”)
2. Write
a. Book (Dan. 12:4)
b. Burden (Rev. 10:10; frighten, alarm, dismay)
II. Symbols (7:2-8)
A.
Winds (people of all regions
of the earth
)
B. Sea
Baldwin
wrote, “To the Hebrews the sea was both dangerous and mysterious, a restless
element (Is. 57:20). . . .”
Young
explained, “It symbolizes the world of nations in a tumultuous state, cf. Is.
17:12ff; Jer. 46:7ff; Rev. 17:15, 21:1.”
C. Beasts (sequence, collapse)
Young
noted, “In the OT the gentile nations are frequently symbolized by beasts, cf.
Ezek. 29:3ff.; Is. 27:1, 51:9.”
Pentecost
wrote, “Whereas in Daniel 2 the course of world empire is viewed from man’s
perspective, in Daniel 7 the same course of empire is viewed from the Divine
viewpoint, where the empires are seen, not as an attractive glorious image, but
as four wild voracious beasts, which devour and destroy all before them and,
consequently, are worthy of judgment.”
Babylon (606-539 B.C.)
Dan. 2:36-38: head of gold (Is. 14:4)
Dan. 7:4: lion (Jer. 50:17)
Media-Persia (539-330 B.C.)

Jesus Christ (forever)
Dan. 2:44: Stone that crushes (Mt. 21:42-44)
Dan. 7:13-14: Son of Man (Mt. 26:64)
1. Lion
A
winged lion with a man’s head has been excavated at Nimrud.
Young commented, “Neb. had
been compared to a lion and eagle, cf. Jer. 4:7, 49:19, 50:17-44, 49:22; Lam.
4:19; Hab. 1:8; Ezek. 17:3-12.”
Keil noted, “In this
description of the change that occurred to the lion there is without doubt a
reference to what is said of Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4. . . .”
2. Bear
Young
wrote, “The bear is selected for its strength and fierceness” (Hos. 13:8; Amos
5:19; Prov. 28:15)
Wiersbe
stated, “The three ribs depict the three empires already defeated (Egypt,
Babylonia, Libya); and the feet that the bear stood ‘raised up on one side’
indicates that the one half of the empire (the Persian half) was stronger and
more honorable than the other half (the Medes). Medo-Persia conquered Babylon in
539 B.C., but their empire lasted only some 200 years.”
3. Leopard
Young
said, “The third empire, the Macedonian, is represented in the vision by a
panther, an animal noted for its agility and intelligence, cf. Jer. 5:6; Hos.
13:7.”
Young added, “This empire is
to be considered as possessing greater rapidity in its conquests.”
Keil
explained, “Wings are everywhere an emblem of rapid motion; heads, on the
contrary, where the beast signifies a kingdom, are the heads of the kingdom. . .
.”
Alexander the Great in Josephus, Ant. 11. 8. 5; “And when the Book of Daniel was showed him wherein Daniel declared that one of the Greeks should destroy the empire of the Persians, he supposed that himself was the person intended.” Alexander, the king of Greece, was succeeded by four of his generals after his early death.
4. Monster
Young
said, “Like no empire before her, Rome permanently subdued her conquered
territory.”
a. Ten horns
Young
commented, “These kingdoms in one sense or another, arise historically from the
ancient Roman Empire.”
Pentecost
said, “The fact that the ten rise ‘out of’ the fourth kingdom seems to suggest
that the fourth is not viewed as having passed out of existence, to be
resurrected again, but rather, to have continued in some form until the ten horn
condition merges.”
Pentecost explained, “There
will be a federation of ten separate kings, which will bring their kingdoms
under the authority of the head of the empire (Rev. 17:12).”
b. Little horn
Pentecost
wrote, “From among those ten kingdoms there will rise one individual who will
have control over the whole dominion of the ten kings (Dan. 7:8-24; Rev.
13:1-10, 17:13). In gaining his authority three of the ten kings are
overthrown.”
III. Scene (7:9-10, 13-14; shifts to heaven)
A. Ancient of Days (Rev. 4:2)
Young
wrote, “The white garment of a judge indicates both majestic dignity and purity
(cf. Is. 1:18; Ps. 51:7; Rev. 3:5, 4:4-6, 19:8).”
“Fire often accompanies the
presence of God, cf. Ex. 19:18, 20:18; Dt. 4:24, 9:3, 18:17; Ps. 18:8, 50:3;
Ezek. 1:4-13-27; Heb. 12:29; Rev. 4:5.”
“It is the fire of judgment
from God which completely triumphs over the fourth beast (Is. 9:5, 66:24; Rev.
19:20, 20:10).”
Keil
commented, “A thousand times a thousand and ten thousand times ten thousand are
hyperbolical expressions for an innumerable company of angels, who as His
servants stand around God; cf. Dt. 33:2; Ps. 68:17.”
O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing His power and His love;
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor,
and girded with praise.
B. Son of Man (Mt. 9:6, 13:41, 16:13-27-28, 24:27-30-37-39-44, 25:13-31, 26:64; Acts 7:56; Rev. 1:13)
Jerry
Vines said, “The Bible says that the age will be characterized by increasing
wickedness and that it is not the work of the church that is going to bring in
the kingdom. The only thing that will bring in the kingdom on the earth is the
return of the King Himself.”
IV. Scope (7:17-28)
A. Time of the Gentiles (17; Lk. 21:24)
C.
I. Scofield noted, “The times of the Gentiles is that long period beginning with
the Babylonian captivity of Judah, under Nebuchadnezzar, and to be brought to an
end by the destruction of Gentile world-power by the ‘stone cut out without
hands’ (Dan. 2:34-35-44), i. e. the coming of the Lord in glory (Rev. 19:11-21),
until which time Jerusalem is politically subject to Gentile rule (Lk. 21:24).”
(Reference Bible.)
B. Mystery of the Church (18; Eph. 3:1-11)
C. Rise of the Anti-christ (11-12, 19-21, 23-26; 2 Th. 2:1-12; Rev. 13:1-2, 19:20, 20:10)
Young
said, “But in the days of the little horn, this opposition will break forth as
never before, as the Satanically inspired little horn, swaggering in its own
pride and haughtiness, will make war with the Church.”
Vines
stated, “The offer which the Devil made to Jesus and He refused is an offer that
will be made to this coming world ruler and he will accept. Because the
Antichrist, we are taught in the Bible, is going to exercise power in the
authority of Satan.”
• Spirit of Anti-christ is at work now (1 Jn. 2:18).
• Anti-christ will be a man (Dan. 7:8). Satan always keeps a man ready.
• Anti-christ will come out of the Roman Empire and head the last form of world power (Dan. 7:7).
• Christ will not return until Anti-christ is revealed (2 Th. 2:3).
• Anti-christ cannot be revealed until the true church is gone and the tribulation period begins. (2 Th. 2:7).
• Satan will give Anti-christ his power as part of a satanic trinity (2 Th. 2:9; Rev. 13:2-6, 11).
• Anti-christ will arise miraculously (Rev. 13:3).
• Anti-christ will imitate Christ (Mt. 24:5) but is against Christ (Rev. 6:2).
• Anti-christ will rule politically (Rev. 17:9-14), ecclesiastically (Rev. 13:11-15), and economically (Rev. 13:16-18).
• Anti-christ will eliminate three rulers in the rise to power (Dan 7:8, 24) and rule a ten-nation confederacy.
• Anti-christ will rise through a peace program (Dan. 8:25) and rule by the consent of the nations (Rev. 17:13).
• Anti-christ will try to change the laws and customs (Dan. 7:25).
• People will worship Anti-christ (2 Th. 2:4; Rev. 13:4-8).
• Anti-christ will blaspheme God (Dan. 7:8-25; 2 Th. 2:4; Rev. 13:5-6).
• Anti-christ will persecute the saints (Dan. 7:21-25; Rev. 13:7).
• God will limit the authority of Anti-christ to forty-two months (Dan. 7:25; Rev. 13:5).
• Anti-christ will make then break a covenant with Israel (Dan. 9:27).
• Anti-christ will gather the armies of the world to war with Christ (Rev. 19:19).
• Christ will destroy Anti-christ at His coming (Dan. 7:9-11-22-26; 2 Th. 2:8; Rev. 19:20-21, 20:10).
• Followers of Anti-christ will be destroyed (2 Th. 2:10-12; Rev. 14:9-10, 16:2, 19:21).
D. Second-coming of Jesus Christ (22, 27; 2 Th. 1:7-10; Rev. 1:7, 19:11-16)
New Testament writers distinguished Jesus' appearance as a thief (1 Th. 4:17) from His coming on the white horse (2 Th. 1:7) at the end of the tribulation (Rev. 1:7, 19:11).
Jesse
M. Hendley stated, "Jesus will come first in the air, not to earth, for His
church, and believers will experience the glory of His presence. Seven years
later, He will come with His church to judge this world."
Young
wrote, “Toward the close of the present age the power of the little horn will be
manifested. The Anti-Christ will prevail against the elect of God, becoming ever
stronger and stronger. Against him God’s people will not be able to stand.
Suddenly however, his power will be cut off, and the Lord Jesus Christ shall
return from heaven. The saints who have belonged to the kingdom of the Son of
Man (i.e., all who are truly the elect) shall receive this kingdom and possess
it eternally.”
The signs in Mt. 24:4-8 preceding the second coming refer to the events in the tribulation. Since the rapture of the church will occur before these events, Christ could return at any moment (Mt. 24:32-33)! In Rev. 4:1, God summoned John to heaven with the sound of a trumpet–that trumpet could sound today (1 Cor. 15:51-52).
NIV
1. In the first year of Belshazzar (Dan. 5:1-2-9-22-29-30, 7:1) king of Babylon (Dan. 2:12-14-18-24-48-49, 3:1-12-30, 4:6-29-30, 5:7, 7:1), Daniel had a dream (Dan. 2:4-5-6-7-9-26-28-36-45, 4:5-6-7-8-9-18-19, 5:12, 7:1), and visions (Dan. 2:19-28, 4:5-9-10-13, 7:1-2-7-13-15-20) passed through his mind (Dan. 2:28-32-38, 4:5-10-13, 7:1-6-9-15-20) as he was lying on his bed (Dan. 2:28-29, 4:5-10-13, 7:1). He wrote down the substance (Dan. 7:1-11-16-25-28) of his dream (Dan. 2:4-5-6-7-9-26-28-36-45, 4:5-6-7-8-9-18-19, 5:12, 7:1).
2. Daniel said: "In my vision (Dan. 2:19-28, 4:5-9-10-13, 7:1-2-7-13-15-20) at night (Dan. 7:2-7-13) I looked (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21), and there before me were the four winds (Dan. 7:2-15) of heaven (Dan. 7:2-13-27) churning up the great (Dan. 7:2-20) sea (Dan. 7:2-3).
3. Four great beasts (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23), each different (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) from the others, came up (Dan. 7:3-8-20) out of the sea (Dan. 7:2-3).
4. "The first (Dan. 7:4-8-24) was like a lion, and it had the wings (Dan. 7:4-6) of an eagle (Dan. 4:33, 7:4). I watched (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21) until its wings (Dan. 7:4-6) were torn off and it was lifted from the ground (Dan. 7:4-17-23) so that it stood (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24) on two feet like a man, and the heart (Dan. 2:30, 4:16, 5:20-21-22, 7:4) of a man was given (Dan. 7:4-6-11-12-14-22-25-27) to it.
5. "And there before me was a second beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23), which looked like a bear. It was raised (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24) up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth (Dan. 7:5-7-19). It was told, 'Get up (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24) and eat (Dan. 7:5-7-19-23) your fill of flesh!'
6. "After that, I looked (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21), and there before me was another beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23), one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings (Dan. 7:4-6) like those of a bird. This beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23) had four heads (Dan. 2:28-32-38, 4:5-10-13, 7:1-6-9-15), and it was given (Dan. 7:4-6-11-12-14-22-25-27) authority to rule (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27).
7. "After that, in my vision (Dan. 2:19-28, 4:5-9-10-13, 7:1-2-7-13-15-20) at night (Dan. 7:2-7-13) I looked (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21), and there before me was a fourth beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23)—terrifying (Dan. 2:31, 3:22, 4:36, 5:12-14, 6:3, 7:7-19) and frightening (Dan. 2:31, 4:5, 5:19, 6:26, 7:7-19) and very powerful (Dan. 2:40-42, 7:7). It had large iron (Dan. 2:33-34-35-40-41-42-43-45, 4:15-23, 5:4-23, 7:7-19) teeth (Dan. 7:5-7-19); it crushed (Dan. 2:34-35-40-44-45, 7:7-19-23) and devoured (Dan. 7:5-7-19-23) its victims and trampled underfoot (Dan. 7:7-19) whatever was left (Dan. 7:7-12-19). It was different (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) from all the former beasts (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23), and it had ten horns (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24).
8. "While I was thinking about the horns (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24), there before me was another horn (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24), a little one, which came up (Dan. 7:3-8-20) among them; and three of the first (Dan. 7:4-8-24) horns (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) were uprooted before it. This horn (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) had eyes (Dan. 7:8-20) like the eyes of a man and a mouth (Dan. 7:8-20) that spoke (Dan. 7:8-11-20-25) boastfully (Dan. 7:8-11-20).
9. "As I looked (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21), "thrones (Dan. 5:20, 7:9) were set in place (Dan. 3:6-11-15-20-21-24, 6:7-12-16-24, 7:9), and the Ancient of Days (Dan. 7:9-13-22) took his seat (Dan. 7:9-10-26). His clothing was as white as snow; the hair (Dan. 3:27, 4:33, 7:9) of his head (Dan. 2:28-32-38, 4:5-10-13, 7:1-6-9-15) was white like wool. His throne (Dan. 5:20, 7:9) was flaming (Dan. 3:22, 7:9) with fire (Dan. 7:9-10) , and its wheels were all ablaze (Dan. 3:6-11-15-17-20-21-22-23-24-25-26-27, 7:9-10).
10. A river of fire (Dan. 3:6-11-15-17-20-21-22-23-24-25-26-27, 7:9-10) was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24) before him. The court (Dan. 4:37, 7:10-22-26) was seated (Dan. 7:9-10-26), and the books were opened (Dan. 6:10, 7:10).
11. "Then I continued to watch (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21) because of the boastful (Dan. 7:8-11-20) words (Dan. 7:1-11-16-25-28) the horn (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) was speaking (Dan. 7:8-11-20-25). I kept looking (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21) until the beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23) was slain (Dan. 2:13-14, 3:22, 5:19-30, 7:11) and its body destroyed (Dan. 2:12-18-24, 7:11-26) and thrown (Dan. 7:4-6-11-12-14-22-25-27) into the blazing fire.
12. (The other (Dan. 7:7-12-19) beasts (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23) had been stripped (Dan. 2:21, 4:31, 5:20, 7:12) of their authority (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27), but were allowed to live (Dan. 2:30, 4:17-34, 6:20-26, 7:12) for a period (Dan. 2:16-21, 3:7-8, 4:36, 6:10-13, 7:12-22) of time (Dan. 2:8-9-21, 3:5-15, 4:16-23-25-32, 7:12-25).)
13. "In my vision (Dan. 2:19-28, 4:5-9-10-13, 7:1-2-7-13-15-20) at night (Dan. 7:2-7-13) I looked (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21), and there before me was one like a son of man (Mt. 9:6, 13:41, 16:13-27-28, 24:27-30-37-39-44, 25:13-31, 26:64; Acts 7:56; Rev. 1:13), coming with the clouds of heaven (Mt. 24:30, 26:64; Mk. 14:62) (Dan. 7:2-13-27). He approached the Ancient of Days (Dan. 7:9-13-22) and was led into his presence (Dan. 7:13-16).
14. He was given (Dan. 2:21-23-37-38-48, 5:18-19-28, 7:6-14-22-27)(Dan. 7:4-6-11-12-14-22-25-27) authority (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27), glory (Dan. 2:6-37, 4:30-36, 5:18-20, 7:14) and sovereign power (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27); all peoples (Dan. 7:14-27), nations and men of every language (Dan. 3:4-7-29, 4:1, 5:19, 6:25, 7:14) worshiped (Dan. 3:12-14-17-18-28, 6:16-20, 7:14-27) him. His dominion (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27) is an everlasting (Dan. 2:20-44, 4:3-34, 6:26, 7:14-18-27) dominion (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27) that will not pass away (Dan. 7:12-14-26), and his kingdom (Dan. 2:20-44, 4:3-34, 6:26, 7:14-18-27) is one that will never be destroyed (Dan. 2:44, 4:23, 6:22-26, 7:14) (Is. 9:6-7; Dan. 7:14; Zech. 14:9; Lk. 1:32-33; Rev. 11:15). The Interpretation of the Dream
15. "I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit (Dan. 7:2-15), and the visions (Dan. 2:19-28, 4:5-9-10-13, 7:1-2-7-13-15-20) that passed through my mind (Dan. 2:28-32-38, 4:5-10-13, 7:1-6-9-15) disturbed (Dan. 7:15-28) me.
16. I approached (Dan. 7:13-16) one of those standing (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24) there and asked him the true (Dan. 2:8-45, 3:24, 6:12, 7:16) meaning of all this. "So he told me and gave me the interpretation (Dan. 2:4-5-6-7-9-16-24-25-26-30-36-45, 4:6-7-9-18-19-24, 5:7-8-12-15-16-17-26, 7:16) of these things (Dan. 7:1-11-16-25-28):
17. 'The four great beasts (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23) are four kingdoms (Dan. 7:1-17-24) that will rise (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24) from the earth (Dan. 7:4-17-23).
18. But the saints (Dan. 4:8-9-13-17-18-23, 5:11, 7:18-21-22-25-27) of the Most High (Dan. 3:26, 4:17-24-25-32-34, 5:18-21, 7:18-22-25-27) will receive the kingdom (Dan. 2:20-44, 4:3-34, 6:26, 7:14-18-27) and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever (Dan. 2:20-44, 4:3-34, 6:26, 7:14-18-27).'
19. "Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23), which was different (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) from all the others and most terrifying (Dan. 2:31, 4:5, 5:19, 6:26, 7:7-19)(Dan. 2:31, 3:22, 4:36, 5:12-14, 6:3, 7:7-19), with its iron (Dan. 2:33-34-35-40-41-42-43-45, 4:15-23, 5:4-23, 7:7-19) teeth (Dan. 7:5-7-19) and bronze (Dan. 2:32-35-39-45, 4:15-23, 5:4-23, 7:19) claws (Dan. 4:33, 7:19)—the beast that crushed (Dan. 2:34-35-40-44-45, 7:7-19-23) and devoured (Dan. 7:5-7-19-23) its victims and trampled underfoot (Dan. 7:7-19) whatever was left (Dan. 7:7-12-19).
20. I also wanted to know about the ten horns (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) on its head (Dan. 2:28-32-38, 4:5-10-13, 7:1-6-9-15-20) and about the other horn (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) that came up (Dan. 7:3-8-20), before which three of them fell (Dan. 2:46, 3:5-6-7-10-11-15, 7:20)—the horn (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) that looked more imposing (Dan. 7:2-20) than the others and that had eyes (Dan. 7:8-20) and a mouth (Dan. 7:8-20) that spoke (Dan. 7:8-11-20-25) boastfully (Dan. 7:8-11-20).
21. As I watched (Dan. 7:1-2-4-6-7-9-11-13-21), this horn (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) was waging war against the saints (Dan. 4:8-9-13-17-18-23, 5:11, 7:18-21-22-25-27) and defeating (Dan. 3:17, 6:20, 7:21) them,
22. until the Ancient of Days (Dan. 7:9-13-22) came and pronounced judgment (Dan. 4:37, 7:10-22-26) in favor of the saints (Dan. 4:8-9-13-17-18-23, 5:11, 7:18-21-22-25-27) of the Most High (Dan. 3:26, 4:17-24-25-32-34, 5:18-21, 7:18-22-25-27), and the time (Dan. 2:16-21, 3:7-8, 4:36, 6:10-13, 7:12-22) came when they possessed (Dan. 2:21-23-37-38-48, 5:18-19-28, 7:6-14-22-27)(Dan. 7:4-6-11-12-14-22-25-27) the kingdom (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27).
23. "He gave me this explanation: 'The fourth beast (Dan. 7:3-5-6-7-11-12-17-19-23) is a fourth kingdom (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27) that will appear on earth (Dan. 7:4-17-23). It will be different (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) from all the other kingdoms (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27) and will devour (Dan. 7:5-7-19-23) the whole (Dan. 2:35-39, 4:1-11-20-35, 6:25, 7:23) earth (Dan. 7:4-17-23), trampling it down and crushing (Dan. 2:34-35-40-44-45, 7:7-19-23) it.
24. The ten horns (Dan. 7:7-8-11-20-21-24) are ten kings (Dan. 7:1-17-24) who will come from this kingdom (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27). After them another king (Dan. 7:1-17-24) will arise (Dan. 2:21-31-39-44, 3:1-2-3-5-7-12-14-18-24-27, 4:17, 5:11-21, 6:1-3-7-8-15-19, 7:4-5-10-16-17-24), different (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) from the earlier (Dan. 7:4-8-24) ones; he will subdue (Dan. 4:37, 5:19-22, 7:24) three kings (Dan. 7:1-17-24).
25. He will speak (Dan. 7:8-11-20-25) against the Most High (Dan. 3:26, 4:17-24-25-32-34, 5:18-21, 7:18-22-25-27) and oppress his saints (Dan. 4:8-9-13-17-18-23, 5:11, 7:18-21-22-25-27) and try to change (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) the set times (Dan. 2:8-9-21, 3:5-15, 4:16-23-25-32, 7:12-25) and the laws (Ezra 7:12-14-21-25-26; Dan. 2:9-13-15, 6:5-8-12-15, 7:25). The saints (Dan. 4:8-9-13-17-18-23, 5:11, 7:18-21-22-25-27) will be handed (Dan. 2:21-23-37-38-48, 5:18-19-28, 7:6-14-22-27) over to him for a time, times and half a time (Dan. 2:8-9-21, 3:5-15, 4:16-23-25-32, 7:12-25).
26. " 'But the court (Dan. 4:37, 7:10-22-26) will sit (Dan. 7:9-10-26), and his power (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27) will be taken away (Dan. 7:12-14-26) and completely destroyed (Dan. 2:12-18-24, 7:11-26) forever (Dan. 7:26-28).
27. Then the sovereignty (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27), power (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27) and greatness (Dan. 4:22-36, 5:18-19, 7:27) of the kingdoms (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27) under the whole heaven (Dan. 7:2-13-27) will be handed (Dan. 2:21-23-37-38-48, 5:18-19-28, 7:6-14-22-27) (Dan. 7:4-6-11-12-14-22-25-27) over to the saints (Dan. 4:8-9-13-17-18-23, 5:11, 7:18-21-22-25-27), the people (Dan. 7:14-27) of the Most High (Dan. 3:26, 4:17-24-25-32-34, 5:18-21, 7:18-22-25-27). His kingdom (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27) will be an everlasting (Dan. 2:20-44, 4:3-34, 6:26, 7:14-18-27) kingdom (Dan. 7:14-18-22-23-24-27), and all rulers (Dan. 4:3-22-34, 6:26, 7:6-12-14-26-27) will worship (Dan. 3:12-14-17-18-28, 6:16-20, 7:14-27) and obey him.'
28. "This is the end (Dan. 7:26-28) of the matter (Dan. 7:1-11-16-25-28). I, Daniel, was deeply troubled (Dan. 2:31, 4:36, 5:6-9-10, 7:28) by my thoughts (Dan. 2:29-30, 4:19, 5:6-10, 7:28), and my face (Dan. 2:31, 4:36, 5:6-9-10, 7:28) turned (Ezra 6:11-12; Dan. 2:9-21, 3:19-27-28, 4:16, 5:6-9-10, 6:8-15-17, 7:3-7-19-23-24-25-28) pale (Dan. 7:15-28), but I kept the matter (Dan. 7:1-11-16-25-28) to myself."
