SETI@home![]()
This project, coordinated by Berkeley University in California, needs extra CPU cycles - offline at work or home - when not using your computer. Life beyond Earth? Your computer might begin searching in 1999. Or your computer might not be able to? The UNIX software was released for final testing in April 1999. The software for PC and Mac computers will show on your monitor as a screen saver, if you wish, and that software is coming soon. This is serious science. Read about it at the SETI@home web site.
