Introduction to Computers
$35.00 (One 2-hour Class)
This class is one 2-hour session designed for the person with little or no computer experience. If you are new to computers or have thought about learning to use a computer, this is the beginning course for you. In this two hour class you will learn how to safely turn a computer on and off, the parts of a computer, have a brief introduction to Windows 98, and learn how to develop your mouse skills. You will have the opportunity to use a computer and see how much fun it can be.
Introduction to the Internet
$35.00 (One 2-hour Class)
Begin discovering the Internet and using E-mail in this 2-hour class. Learn what the Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW) means to you. In this class you will be introduced to using Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4 to browse and search the Internet and Outlook to send and receive E-mail.
Introduction to Computer Hardware and Software
$35.00 (One 2-hour Class)
This 2-hour class provides an introduction to understanding the hardware and software in today's personal computers. It is taught on a very non-technical level and is designed to help you better understand the hardware and software you may have in your computer. This is a class that you should consider taking before purchasing a new computer. If you already have a computer, this class will help you better understand your computer.
Introduction to Windows 98
$125.00 (Four 2-hour classes)
This class is four 2-hour sessions spaced over two weeks. Since today's computers use Windows 98 (or 95), this is the first course you will need to take especially if are new to using a computer. This is a beginning level class that will cover many of the features of Windows 98. Some of the topics covered are: the Desktop, Taskbar, Start Menu, Shortcut Icons, playing music CD's, working with Windows Explorer, copying files, finding help, creating shortcuts, and using the word processors Notepad and WordPad. The knowledge gained in this course will help you to be more successful. Since the majority of the information covered in this course is the same for Windows 98 as well as Windows 95, a student using Windows 95 could also benefit from taking this course.
Introductions to Microsoft Word 97
$125.00 (Four 2-hour classes)
This class is four 2-hour sessions spaced over two weeks. It is a beginning level class for the word processor, Microsoft Word 97 (one of the suite of programs included in the Microsoft Office 97 software). In this introductory class you will learn to create and save documents, check spelling and grammar, create styles, and use editing features such as autoformat, text alignment, fonts, cut, copy, paste, as well as bullets and numbering.
Overview of Microsoft Office 97 Professional
$125.00 (Four 2-hour classes)
This class is four 2-hour sessions spaced over two weeks. It will provide a brief introduction to Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook - the applications included in Microsoft Office 97 Professional. In this class you will be introduced to each of these applications and will perform some simple exercises. This is not an indepth training class, but is intended to provide a brief introduction to each of these applications and an understanding of their practical use.
PC & YOU gladly accomodates students with no prior experience. Our students use industry standard hardware and software in our classroom with the helpful guidance of an experienced teacher.
