After determining that the dust jacket is the same as
above, check the price, shown on the inside dust
jacket flap. It should be listed as $3.50. The book
cover, shown in the image below, is gray in color.

If all the above criteria is met, and the copyright page shows no later
printings or additional publishers, other than William Morrow &
Company and the acknowledgement of the Canadian publication
simultaneously printed in Canada by George J. McLeod Limited,
Toronto, you most likely have the 1st edition.

This is a rather poor scan of this book cover giving it the
misleading appearance of having great variations of color.
The fact is..the cover is a uniform gray cloth appearance,
more like the spine scan.
