With the exception of a few of Nevil Shute's earliest titles (i.e.: Marazan, So
Disdained, and Lonely Road, all originally printed by the London publisher, Cassell; and The Mysterious Aviator, printed by the Boston publisher Houghton Mifflin) Shute's first editions were published by William Morrow & Company (American Publisher) and William Heinemann (British publisher).
Technically, there are a couple of additional points I should address: (1)Throughout
this site I use the term "First Edition" referring to the first printing in book form of each of Nevil Shute's book titles. (2) There was a recent small scale posthumous printing of The Seafarers, a book which has been described as a novella though I have not explored the details of this book or it's completeness by Shute. |
