Tagline: Go Gay With Garbo!
Originally titled The Twin Sister,
this is the story of a woman who tries to win back her husband by posing
as her own twin sister. MGM reasoned that if Ernest Lubitsch could
turn Garbo into a successful comedienne, then why not turn her into
a modern woman?
The weak plot was further hampered by
Garbo's image in the film - drab costumes and contemporary hairstyles
just wasn't Garbo. The film was a complete flop upon release and
many speculated as to whether or not it influenced Garbo's retirement
from the screen. Today, the film can be seen as a fairly amusing comedy
- it just lacks the magic of most Garbo films.
