Tallulah loved animals and had a menagerie of pets at her country home in New York. She purchased a lion cub for $100 at a circus in Reno (while establishing residency for her divorce from John Emery). She named him "Winston Churchill". She eventually had to turn him over to a zoo when his size became too much for her and her frightened guests. (1941)
