Welcome to the Battle for Endor Moon--a 24hourgames event that marked the last 24HG of the 2008 year.  We will be looking for as many as five 24hourgames coming in 2009 so hold on to your hat!  The above photo shows our special guests The Red Bull Girls who made a special trip up to Mt. Doom just to quench the thirst of dozens of exhausted players.  After just one sip of Red Bull many of the otherwise useless players had more than enough energy to climb to the top of the ridge half a dozen more times and complete many more missions for their generals.  One scenario team that showed up deserves a mention here and that was The Lone Rangers.  These guys played with a great attitude and just plain had FUN all day long and it rubbed off on everyone they came into contact with.  Many times I witnessed players having a big shoot-out that ended with congratulations and hand-shakes all around as everyone went back to re-insert.  There were also many many other noteworthy players who attended so I will just say a big THANKS! to all who showed up and played with good sportsmanship throughout the event.

The Walking Tank was one awesome piece of artillery.  This was the first one of these many of us have ever seen and after a few encounters I can tell you these tanks can do more damage than 10 players alone.  Look for us to have one of these at Mt. Doom very soon!

CHUPRACABRA SIGHTING ON GOOGLE EARTH STREET VIEWS!

Google Earth is a program you can download for free off the Internet that allows you to fly anywhere in the world and zoom in with fairly high resolution satellite images of earth.  Another new feature in Google Earth is Street Views.  A Google Earth car equipped with a special camera travels along roadways nationwide and every few seconds captures a 360 degree image sweep.  The viewer can click on the little camera icons that appear along the roadway and zoom in to that spot on the road.  Then you can pull the little hand icon and cause the view to turn so you get a view of all sides.  Mt. Doom rated highly on Google Earth views so they sent their little car past our gates and wait till you see what they photographed here!  Yep!  A live Chupracabra was photographed standing next to Fort Zigg down by the paved road.  Now I know my big German Shepherd, Hegel, looks something like this but let me assure you that this is NOT a picture of a German Shepherd!  We have had several unconfirmed sightings of Chupracabras here and dozens of players have heard their bone chilling screams in the night but now we have photographic proof that they exist here.  I have notified Google Earth Street Views of this image and hope it will soon be featured in one of their online Google Earth Tours or special websites of strange and unusual Google Earth sightings.  More will be posted when they respond to my notifications.  Come out if you dare and walk the trails some evening for your own personal viewing!  You may also become victim to the CROWS of Doom.
