History of Death Valley: In 1991 a terrible ice storm swept over Mt. Doom. Chain lightning strobed the night and charged the frozen air with ozone. Thunderous crashes of trees collapsing under the weight of tons of ice kept us awake all night. In the morning we faced the awful sight of hundreds of fallen pines on the original playing fields of Mt. Doom. We have not been back into that area... until now. In 2008 when 24HourGames announced that they were coming to Mt. Doom the work began and will continue for several years until the ultimate scenario paintball field is created. The map above shows newly created trails and base locations. In a few weeks more cross over trails will be added and the map will be updated. You can see a map on Google Earth by going to the "Fly To" location finder and type in the GPS coordinates: 34 0.700,-86 46.089 Hit GO and you are here. You won't see all the trails in the image above but that's because Mt. Doom has special access to confidential and top-secret Google maps that are not available to the eyes of the general public. More trails are being cut every weekend so this map will be updated from time to time. Come out and put your mark on the field by building a unique structure or bunker system. You name the bunker and that's what it goes by henceforth unto all time to come.
