History of Fight 4Life
Founded and established in 1999 by Gregory Young, a former champion boxer and 1980 Olympic hopeful contender. Fight 4Life operated under the umbrella of Young Life for 3 1/2 years (1999-2004) and later incorporated on August 19, 2004. Fight 4 Life is a non-profit Christian organization serving underprivileged at-risk teens, elementary and middle school young boys and girls from various backgrounds. Fight 4 Life ministry is designed to help young people learn to fight in four specific areas of their lives that will empower them for their future growth. The 4 in Fight 4Life is symbolic for: Physical Fitness, Mental Peace, Social Growth and Spiritual Growth. These are important factors used in preparing our young people for success in today's society.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to encourage inner city at-risk youths to finish high school, to teach our young boys, girls and teen/adolescents anger management, and constructive ways of releasing stress and tension. We also want to encourage them to look inside of themselves for empowerment to achieve their goals and dreams in life and share the word of God.
