Poured Mouse Ceramic Bank

The mouse was poured into a mould. Before firing, a large slot was cut in the back of the head to serve as a coin bank. The small round hole in the bottom was also enlarged to fit a standard plastic plug that I had for that purpose. After bisque firing, the various colors were added from a matte color kit. Clear glaze was then painted in several layers over the entire piece. It was fired to cone 07.

On this view, you can clearly see the slot, made large enough for coins up to quarter in size. This makes both a nice decorative piece as well as functional for kids or adults. It was fired to cone 07.
