08/16/2005: "Total Collections"
As of today, when I wrap it up, the total collections is $349.45, which comprises of $217.63 from the All Saints Lutheran Church's donation plus $131.82 from the selling of candies plus personal donations from my colleagues at work. That doesn't count the $98.00 I spent to buy the candies which has triggered all these contributions. Yes, I have a lot of candies left, but I have given them to the team that handles the care packages for our troops in the battle fields.
I just call two of the banks in town and they told me the charge to wire $350.00 to Indonesia is $40.00. Well, that has not included the charge by the destination bank. I have just talked to one Indonesian student, which is my own nephew here in town. I will write him a check of $350.00 then tonight I will call his father - my brother in Surabaya, Indonesia, asking his favor to wire the money from Surabaya to Waingapu in Sumba Indonesia. Then the only charge would be the local wire transfer charges in Indonesia that should not be as high as the International wire transfer charge. Since I'm asking my brother's favor to wire the money, it will really dependent on his schedule there. But I hope to hear back from Sumba as soon as they have received the money some time next week.
Thank y'all for the donations and as soon as I get additional info from Waingapu, Sumba, I will post it here to let y'all know.
God Bless y'all.
Note: Mr. Byron Bonds just handed me another $3.00 so the total is $353.00. Thanks, Byron for all the popcorns.
