Truly Useless Background Color JavaScript Applet

This useless page requires Netscape Navigator 6.0 or greater or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater to not work, as is intended.

This page illustrates the problem of specifying a page's background color with a style and trying to change it with JavaScript using "document.bgColor=<color>", as you would have done in the old days (meaning c. 1999). This occurs whether you explicitly specify a style in the BODY tag or specify a background-color attribute in a linked style sheet (as done here).

Instructions: If it worked, you'd simply click on a colored box to change the background color of this page to that color. To see the work around, go here. But you should probably just go here to see the updated version.
