I don't think it has a true thermocline, but if you have ever been skiing (a long time ago I did) you will have noticed a pronounced difference between the temperature at your upper body compared to the temperature at your feet.
You are correct in that there is too much current (at times, depending on the TVA dam releases) and the depth isn't enough in most areas to support "true" thermoclines although temperature differentiations at various depths are common and expected even with heavy current conditions. As far as true thermoclines go, no, you won't find it in this area on your depth finder (at least not ever on mine), but differences in temperature by depth of water are still not only common, but the normal situation, even in relatively "high" current situations.
