LAKE LEVEL: 563.3
FULL POOL: 564.0
SURFACE TEMP: 84
WATER CLARITY: Whole lake is in decent shape
CRAPPIE: A lot of them still being caught on drops and brush. Also under the bridges at night. Keep to release ratio is improving.
Best bait is still live bait.
BASS: Bass fishing has been pretty good. A lot of big spots and good largemouth. Crankbaits, Spinner Baits, and Carolina rigged soft
plastics.Deep docks.Electric Blue has been a good color. White on Spinner Baits. They are moving back out to deeper water. If you
can catch it when they are not pulling so much water you can do pretty good on the old channel edge and ditches.
STRIPE: Showing up in the Cave Hole, Spring Creek, and out of Riverside down about the 68 mile marker. Also the Ole Cotton Gin
and the mouth of Spring and Cowan. Live shad is the best. Hyper-Striper and Little Fishy will work. Go early.
BREAM: Good catches coming out of Guntersville. Deep water, 35-50 feet down. Wax worms are best but crickets will work.
WHITE BASS: A few showing up in the Chatooga and a few showing up between Mud Creek and Ballplay. A few in the mouth of
Spring Creek and Cowan.
CATFISH: The dark nights of August are on us. It is time to get the big uns. Deep water or any fish cleaning station late. Dark thirty.
Hope everybody has had a good summer. I know everybody is busy getting the kids ready for school. Fall fishing will be upon us
before you know it. Get you gear greased up and ready to go. We should have a great fall by the way things have been looking. Look
forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the fall. Steve, Cheryl, Butch and Harry 256-927-6617
