It is about time for stripers??? Hmmmm... it seems that our historical trend of luck differs greatly. In fact, I have historically found all types of fishing difficult in the stressfull heat of the summer in Alabama. I have found stripe fishing to be red hot in late winter and early spring on the TN river... In other words, easy pickings in March and April below the dams. The AL DNR article about stripers tends to make me believe that stripers get very stressed in the summer and dive for deep water with oxygen... even if they have to give up eating.
But, then again, I am not an expert and only go when it is easy. Also, when people talk about stripe, it could be yellow bass, white bass, saltwater stripers, or hybrid.
I wish you luck and commend your efforts. I am thinking about teasing a few fish in the sunfish family soon... probably bass on G-ville.
