I catch 'em in front of Browns Ferry NP year round, by ACCIDENT. We fish for the stripers and we are always catching those big blue cats on our bait. we only use 1 oz jigging spoons in 25-30' water. the cat bite better near the north bank. We routinely catch 8-14 lb fish, but I did catch a 64 pounder back in January. just pull up where the discharge pipeline crosses the river and you'll see the boiling water.I always see folks fishing and catching catfish on cut bait with heavy rods and line. The 111 lb world record was caught there in July several years back. it's a great fishin' hole! PS - Don't step out of boat onto bank or the TVA guards will shoot you. NO BULL.
