Wheeler/Guntersville and Wilson lakes are all pretty close to hitting the summertime pattern where the fishing is fairly consistent on topwater over grass (except Wilson where there no real grass to speak of...) Unfortunately, the fish seem to be in transition and very spotty. Went last week to Wilson and caught 34 at night, went Monday night and caught 3! Give it about another 2 weeks and G'ville and Wheeler ought to get going pretty consistant on the TW bite early and late with soft plastics doing good during the heat of the day on the deep edges of the millfoil.
BTW - I believe the size limit for Wheeler Lake is 12" - G'ville and Wilson are 15". Check the AL Game and Fish website to be sure if your planning to keep fish...
