There are several guys that came in to the tackle shop that drift all summer long--and i have seen some nice coolers of fish brought in during july and august. Mostly around the mouth of spring creek and the mouth of the elk river, fishing bluff lines in 20-30ft of water. Never tried here myself, but I do frequent Bay Springs lake in mississippi. Drift live minnows on 9ft ultralights with 2-4lb test, fish usually suspended 14 to 18 foot in 20-24 ft of water. We will usually have 15-20 keepers on a good day, some "good" fish in the 1.5 lb range--only seen one 2lb fish in the last two years though. Doesnt seem to be many giants on that lake, but a lot of 12 inch fish.
