Hello , my dad and i use to fish the big G year round when the white crappie were still abundant, and you rarely caught a spec or black one but times changed with the mil foil growing over their spawning areas .We use to catch post spawn crappies in about 12 ft of water in may after the spring crowd had given it up and i mean a lot LOL. And we could always muster enough any month of the summer for a good fry if you knew how to fish the drops with stumps. But as i said things changed for some reason and they arent in the big G in those old places ,they all hang under the boat houses and piers now HA!! and have become black crappie not the Whites.Nice to see someone who does still go after them though!! Are you fishing wheeler??
